Unit 30 cho bạn từ để nói về tội phạm; unit này cho bạn từ để nói về hệ thống xử lý nó — từ phòng xử án cho tới sau ngày ra tù. Điểm phân biệt band 7.5 ở đề này có ba phần. Thứ nhất, bốn mục đích của hình phạt (đền tội, răn đe, cách ly, cải tạo) kéo về bốn hướng, nên một bản án phục vụ cái này thường phá cái kia. Thứ hai, thứ răn đe được lại là xác suất bị bắt chứ không phải mức án. Thứ ba, tỉ lệ tái phạm hầu như luôn đo bằng số lần bị kết án lại, nên nơi tuần tra dày hơn sẽ trông tệ hơn dù hành vi bên dưới y hệt.
