Câu bị động là gì?
Câu bị động dùng khi ta quan tâm đến đối tượng chịu tác động hơn là người thực hiện hành động, hoặc khi không biết / không cần nói ai làm. Công thức chung: be + past participle (V3). Động từ be chia theo thì của câu chủ động.
Present simple passive (am/is/are + V3)
Diễn tả sự thật, thói quen ở hiện tại. Ví dụ: Grandma is always invited. (Bà luôn được mời.) Phủ định: isn't played; nghi vấn: Is Simon invited?
Past simple passive (was/were + V3)
Diễn tả hành động trong quá khứ. Ví dụ: Uncle Adrian was invited. (Chú Adrian đã được mời.) Dấu hiệu: yesterday, last week, ago. Vd: My bike was stolen yesterday.
Passive với will (will/won't be + V3)
Diễn tả điều sẽ được làm trong tương lai. Ví dụ: The neighbours will be invited. (Hàng xóm sẽ được mời.) Phủ định: won't be shown; nghi vấn: Will I be picked up?
Mẹo & lưu ý
Đổi chủ động → bị động: tân ngữ thành chủ ngữ, chia be cùng thì với động từ chính, rồi thêm V3. Với phrasal verb, nhớ giữ tiểu từ: The glass was picked up.

Helpful hints
If you are not sure how to form a passive sentence, think of the active sentence first.
Active: Someone stole my sister's bike yesterday.
Passive: My sister's bike was stolen yesterday.
1. The object of the active sentence (my sister's bike) becomes the subject of the passive sentence.
2. We need the verb be in the same tense as the active verb (stole = past simple -> was).
3. We need the past participle of the verb (stole -> stolen).
Active: Someone stole my sister's bike yesterday.
Passive: My sister's bike was stolen yesterday.

The National Trust
