20 từ và cụm từ
Đây là unit mở đầu chặng Developing, và mức yêu cầu bước lên rõ rệt: 20 từ mỗi unit, đoạn đọc dài hơn, và từ vựng chuyển từ "đời sống" sang "học thuật". Giáo dục là chủ đề Task 2 quay lại nhiều nhất, nên bạn cần nói được về cả hệ thống chứ không chỉ lớp học của mình: trường công – trường tư, học nghề – học đại học, cách đánh giá. Ba lỗi hay gặp ở band 5.0: dùng "education" như danh từ đếm được, nhầm "student" với "pupil", và viết "go to university" thành "go to the university".
Làm nhanh để biết mình cần tập trung vào đâu. Không tính điểm.

Chuẩn bị 60 giây rồi trả lời mỗi câu 30–45 giây. Part 3 chặng này đòi hỏi lập luận có hai vế, nên tập dùng "while", "whereas" và "the main reason is that…".
Tự trả lời thành tiếng trước đã. Sau đó nghe câu mẫu, rồi nói lại lần nữa — bắt chước nhịp và chỗ ngắt, đừng học thuộc.
