Unit 7: Passives and Causatives

📘 Giải thích tiếng Việt

Câu bị động qua các thì

Bị động = be + V3, chia theo thì của be (was invited, has been called, is being asked). Cẩn thận các dạng sai phổ biến như was been hay has discussed.

Bị động dạng nguyên mẫu & danh động từ

Sau giới từ hoặc động từ dùng being + V3 (look forward to being given a tour); sau want / would like dùng to be + V3 (I'd like to be met at the airport).

Bị động phi ngôi (impersonal passive)

Với động từ tường thuật (say, believe, think, report, estimate): It is said that… hoặc S + is said to + inf. Hành động xảy ra trước dùng to have + V3: The prisoner is believed to have used a rope.

Cấu trúc causative (nhờ/sai khiến)

have/get + O + V3 = nhờ ai làm giúp (have your hair cut) hoặc gặp chuyện không may (had his phone stolen). have someone + V (nguyên mẫu) hoặc get someone to + inf = bảo ai làm. have/get + O + V-ing nhấn quá trình (had everyone laughing).

Điểm tinh tế C1–C2

be made to + inf ở bị động (Craig was made to stay); động từ có giới từ giữ nguyên giới từ khi chuyển bị động (was provided with, was suggested to me); dùng cụm danh từ under construction, in progress, on display, under consideration thay cho bị động tiếp diễn dài dòng.
